Lausanne, Switzerland Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa
Looking out over the Lake Geneva and the Alps (in a clear day we could see Evian), this grand turreted hotel is nestled among busy city dwellers at the heart of Lausanne. This beautiful Art Nouveau “Grand Chateau aesthetic” enjoys one of the best locations within the city with sprawling panoramic views of nearby terraced vineyards of the Lavaux region. Scenic location is not the only attraction, the history behind this heritage building is definitely colorful and interesting especially on its renown guests over the years. https://www.royalsavoy.ch/en/hotel/heritage to know more of the Hotel’s history.
Istanbul, Turkey Six Senses Kocatas Mansions
Sailing along the Bosphorus Straits, one can’t help but noticing the pearls of hundreds beautiful historical mansions built during the glory days of Ottoman Empire. Two of those waterfront mansions are portrayals of marvel architectures, more than 150 years old named Kocatas and Sait Pasa Mansions. Both nearly lost to fire in the end of 19th century for Sait Pasa and in 1997 for Kocatas. Guests and dwellers are once again welcomed within the luxury rooms of these glorious mansions after the restoration and launch by Six Senses Resort team last summer in 2019. https://www.sixsenses.com/en/corporate/news/restoration-of-six-senses-kocatas-mansions-istanbul for more insights on these heritage buildings.
